Mande Muda originated in West Java, the system has various components, including jurus, buah, pecahan, kembangen, and ilmu.Originally Mande Muda consisted of 18 styles of Silat, which was later expanded by Pendekar Suwanda to include elements of 24 styles. The system is very complete, covering all ranges of combat, as well as weapons not seen in other arts.

Mande Muda is a very sophisticated art which requires you to understand leverage, and body mechanics, enabling a smaller person to easily throw, and disable or defeat a larger opponent. In the photo above, Pak Herman explains the internal side of the art, called ilmu. Pak Herman was a Master of both Internal and External aspects of Mande Muda.
