This style was created by Dai clan living in Qi County in northern China’s ShanxiProvince. Like many Traditional Chinese Arts the history of the art is often debated. Its most well known practicioner was Dai Longbang, who inherited the Intention Boxing passed within the Dai family and later learnt Xinyiquan as well as Praying Mantis style.( Both Dai Shi Xinyiquan and Che Xingyiquan are taught in our Xinidao System)
Dai style has a deep system of dantien developement which takes many years and uses the Squatting Monkey posture as it's base. Their is no Santi stance and the footwork is very different than Modern Xingyi as well. The focus on Internal methods is very sophisticated and the student only learns new material after having developed the dantien. The Bu Fa and Di Pan are trained extensively and it is only later that the 5 Jin are shown.
POSTURE
The posture used in Dai method is very small and compact. The dantien methods are the reason for this unorthodox system. Da Xinyi is a very close range system, and the main reason they excel in this range is due to the contracting and expanding methods of recieveing and delivering strikes. Other styles have tried to add the dan tien methods of Dai style to their art and they realize that the whole art would have to change as each art has certain requirments for their postures and body method. Dai method is unique to Dai Xinyi and really cannot just be added to another art.You musy make your postrure very small and closed, and then expand and open. The three curves of the body are of most importance
